What is The 1 Star Diver certification (Open Water Diver)?
The Open Water Diver is the most popular and recognized diving course worldwide. Also called 1 Star Diver, this course is designed for those who want to explore the fascinating underwater world safely and autonomously (but never alone!). This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters. During the course, candidates learn fundamental diving concepts, including the physics and physiology of diving, necessary equipment, safety techniques, and dive planning.
The Open Water Diver course consists of a combination of theoretical classes, pool or confined water sessions, and a series of open water dives supervised by a certified instructor. These dives guarantee students the opportunity to apply what they learn in a real-world environment, under the expert supervision of their Odysea instructor.
Upon successful completion of the course, students earn a certification allowing them to dive in the whole world. This certification is recognized worldwide.
